Maddie's 2 mo. appt.

I forgot that I hadn't mentioned Maddie's growth! We went for her 2 mo. appt. the day before Christmas Eve. I took Jon to hold her while she got her shots. She was a brave soul and only cried just a little she got 3 different shots in the thighs. The nurse was a different but much nicer assistant thank goodness, my ped.'s regular nurse or MA or whatever is a beast. I dislike her very much. If my ped. wasn't so nice I'd change. I still might now with a different insurance situation. Wow so anyway I'll get to the point, Madelyn weighed 10 lbs 7 oz! My ped. came in and said "what are you feeding this girl?" I laughed and said "cream I think". Anyway Madelyn jumped from 4th percentile (at birth), to 6th percentile (2 weeks), to finally....42nd percentile (2 mo.). Whoo hoo! She is such a joy, I love picking her up now when she wakes up because she'll usually smile really goofy at me after I smother her with kisses. Her eyelashs have finally filled out nicely and I love when people compliment them. And her "hot lips" as a male coworker called them. What can I say she's starting to look like me, bah ha ha just kidding she's pretty well mixed. We love her and as soon as our computer is up and running I'll post some cute smiley pictures. Her latest thing is cooing all the time, I wonder what she wants to say. Till next time :)

Home For The Holidays...

This Christmas we were not able to make it up to Washington. Darn the insane snowfall that week! That was my first Christmas away from home, and it was hard. I missed my family and just being at home. We missed all you up in Washington and hope you had a good holiday season. We got your packages that were very generous and made me cry. Thank you all! We were however able to spend time with Jon's sisters and brother's family. It's always fun to get together with them. We even went to a Heslop family party, my first time meeting Jon's uncles and aunts on that side. It was nice to have somewhere to go when we were stuck in Utah, thank goodness for in-laws. Our laptop cord has given up the ghost and I will try to repair it soon so I can post pictures, I hate using the apartment's computers. Happy holidays to everyone sorry we didn't get around to making holiday greeting cards. But we enjoy yours :)

Oh POOP...

So this happened awhile ago and I decided not to embarrass Jon by repeating the incident. But twice I mean seriously! So today Jon said I needed to get out of the house, finally I got to leave. I went tanning and picked up some treats from a local grocery store to watch with the Dark Night (which we love). Anyway got home and we're watching movie while I'm trying to feed Maddie. Its routine to change her half way through the feeding because she seems to wake up after being changed. She was really fussy and she's been sick so she hasn't been eating as much as usual. So I wasn't sure if I should change her just yet but figured might as well cause she won't eat anyway. Jon ran and got me a diaper and wipe. I was situating the diaper when I noticed a yellow tag stick out above her leg. What the? Jon! JON! Not again! Jon was like what? I opened the diaper to find poop everywhere and the previous diaper the change before shoved inside. Jon starting laughing really hard and said I wondered where that went. Followed by no wonder it looked so heavy. All I could say was where the heck were you, why can't you focus, twice Jon I mean seriously. Poor thing had to carry around all her poop from like 5 hours. Yeah believe it or not this was the SECOND time so from now on dad must be monitored while changing any diaper.

Photo shoot!

Today Maddie had her first photo shoot by Little Angels photography. Their website is littleangelsphoto.com, they are pretty big around this part of Utah. A friend gave me a coupon for a free half hour session, but once I got home I realized how expensive the prints are. Sheesh but hopefully one will turn out I plan on buying the copyright of the best one. I want a big potrait sized picture for the huge empty frame that has sat in our home for the last 2 yrs and the cheapest single studio potrait was priced at $250 yikes. Not to mention it would be more than my mom paid for my wedding pictures if I bought it through the studio. Inkleys or Costco will do just fine for me. So once I got home I got to thinking about the poses we did and dressed her up again to see if I could take any that would turn out. So here they are, dad liked them!

Mmm...sushi

This was our favorite roll that evening.

Calamari (squid) salad

Even I thought it was good.

Shin-sei Sushi downtown Ogden on 25th St, not our favorite customer service was awful.
So Jon and I used to be frequent mexican food eaters whenever we went out we tried a new restaurant. But the last 9 months we've been obsessed with sushi. Here's a list of the places we've been and what we thought.
Ogden-
Tona (nice atmosphere & excellent customer service)
Windy Sukiyaki (cheaper rolls & wonderful customer service)
Shin-sei (probably won't go there again waited over a hour for food)
Moses Lake-
Tsunami sushi (friendly service)
Kennewick-
Sushimori (quick service but small building like fastfood)
We also went to a place in SLC that we loved and a place in Logan with Melissa's family over a year ago, just can't remember the names.

Its Been Awhile....

I realized that I haven't written for some time and my mom got my camera mailed to me yesterday. SO since the last post we went home to Washington for Thanksgiving week. Madelyn was blessed in Othello first ward on Sunday the 23rd by her father and had her Gpa Walker, Uncle Heath, Uncle Brandon, Cousin Sean, Great Uncle Marlo, Great Uncle Jay in the circle we wished all the brother in laws could have been part of it, that would have been a huge circle. Everything was perfect even though Jon said it was the scariest blessing he given in his life. My mom was sweet enough with all the things going on that week and previous weekend to have everyone over for lunch afterwards. My older sisters threw a baby shower which was tons of fun and I appreciated everyones adorable gifts. We ended up staying in Washington till that Friday driving home on Saturday. Maddie was pretty good in the car, on the way down she was an angel and on the way back she was a sick baby so it wasn't the funnest ride. The next day Carrie, Eric, & Lillie came to visit. It was so fun to have her here and to get to meet my cute little neice. She was such a doll!
Jon's bday was on Saturday, so on Friday we went with his dad Vance and Brenda out to dinner at Windys Sukiaki. For sushi of course, its actually really easy atmosphere eating in your own room to bring a newborn baby. We had a lot of fun and pretty much were spoiled. Saturday Jon played football while I tried to throw together some sort of bday gift. It was pretty lame because I can't ever get out of the house. So we went to Costa Vida for salads then over to the theatre to watch Twilight. Sounds like it would have been my bday huh? But Jon said that it wasn't as bad as he expected and would let me buy it sometime in the future. Poor Jon was nice enough to take Maddie out once she started to cry at the BEGINNING of the movie. But I guess he was able to watch from the hall to the exit. What a sweetheart all because he knew how bad I wanted to see it. Maybe next time we'll be able to get a babysitter. Speaking of twilight I sure wish I hadn't heard all the bad things people had said because I couldn't help but notice what I may not have else wise. But I'm excited for the next one to come out, now that I've finished all the books I need something to feed my twilight need.
We're excited as Christmas approaches, I need to get out and get my presents. I hate guessing presents I really wish Jon would just tell me exactly what he wants and I wish he'd ask exactly what I want. I hate to think either of us will waste money of gifts that we didn't need or really want. Can't wait to see everyone again Christmas week.
Here's a bunch of pictures from the last couple weeks.
